Day trips> The Danube Gorge
The Danube is the second longest river in Europe, it flows through Romania and builds its borders for over 1000 km. Not far from Timisoara it enters the country and forms one of its most spectacular sectors, the Danube Gorge.
Early in the morning, we start our trip from Timișoara heading in southern direction, to reach the Danube in time. After a journey of more than 3 hours, where we will discover and know better the contrasts of the Banat Region, we will see the river that cuts its way through the mountains, forming a gorge with spectacular views. With the help of a motorboat, we will discover the beauties of the famous Danube Boilers, the immense statue of Decebal, the Dacian leader, to the caves and spectacular formations.
After lunch we will visit the St. Ana Monastery. Besides the beautiful view which we have from inside the monastery, we will learn more about its short but very interesting history. After a long and exciting day, we start our way back to Timisoara, which lasts for more than 3 hours.
